Harmony & Discord
In the Spring of 2003, I received my first "Fancy" pair of breeding gerbils.
Harmony and Discord blazed a new trail all their own.  They produced almost
every Black-Eyed gerbil that you could imagine.  Harmony was a beautiful and
super sweet Siamese, Discord was a Grey Agouti with cb (he had a little more
of an attitude :)  They had 6 litters together before I decided to split them up (I
questioned some recurring health problems with the pups).  The above
pictures are Harmony and Discord with the 1st litter born after coming to the
kennel.  The 2nd picture was taken just a few weeks ago of Harmony and her
son Connor.
Max (2nd Gen) & Son
One of the pups from Harmony's & Discords
second litter went to LOL Kennels.  Ebony was a
spotted/Pied Burmese (Photo not available:(
She was paired with Dark Star and produced
Halley.  Meanwhile, in another litter, a little
Burmese boy caught my attention.  Maximum
Effect (Max) was chosen to breed the next
generation within the kennel.  With Halley being
out-crossed, I took a chance and bred them
together (something I wouldn't do again).  But
they did have 3 beautiful litters.  One litter was
taken to the 2004 MW show.  It contained
Siamese, LCP Slate, Burmese, CP slate and
drew a lot of attention.
Halley (3rd Gen) & Daughter
Hope (4th Gen) & Kira
Among Max and Halley's litters were a
couple of more good candidates for
breeding.  Bolt (CP Slate with a unique
blaze) went back to LOL Kennels.  Hope
stayed at Double Star in anticipation of
continuing the line.
Bolt had quite a few litters I believe.
However, when it came time to put Hope with
her mate, a problem was discovered.  She
still remains a favored pet and a core
member of the Harm/Discord Line.
Brown Sugar Star (5th Gen)
Knowing that "Hope was Lost" as a breeder I
received a daughter from Bolt at the MW
Show 2005.  Brown Sugar Star joined the
kennel courtesy of LOL Kennels (things
didn't work out with her mate but I may hold
her for future breeding).
Harley (6th Gen)
On Thanksgiving weekend, I made a trip
south to wrap up some missed connections
after the MW Show.  I was due to pick up a
couple of gerbils reserved from Kansas City
Kennels.  Almost last minute, I spotted a
Siamese with the unique "Bolt" blaze and that
looked like her Great, Great, Great Grandma
Harmony.  I found out she was Bolt's Grand
Daughter, I nabed her!!  She has been given
the name Harley and will continue the line.
